List of the Disney Movie’s I have already seen. Part 1- each post will have 10 movies on it for The DMIHAS section of this challenge. Here are the first ten.
Disney Movie- Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs. (1937) I loved this movie in my early years of Elementary school. I dressed up as Snow White in the second Grade and my mom was The Evil Queen dressed as when the character was disguised as an old Haag. Weird Fact: Snow White’s character was only fourteen! I remember when I found that out I was shocked. Anyways, everyone who has seen this movie knows that they have to have a favorite dwarf. Mine is Grumpy. They are all great but Grumpy is the best in my opinion.
Disney Movie- Pinocchio. (1940) To be honest this movie is not one of my favorites, the only reason I watched it multiple times was because I loved the character Jiminey Cricket and that it was a Disney movie. Otherwise this movie has never done much for me. Sorry to say.
Disney movie- Dumbo. (1941) What can I say about Dumbo, I like this one. Well I like the fact it’s about the circus and Elephants. I love Elephants. But when I think about it most of the movie is really sad. How everyone originally tortured Dumbo and then when his mother was protecting him from the bullies, she was ripped away from him. But ultimately it had a good ending. Dumbo found his purpose and was reunited with his mother.
Disney movie- Bambi. (1942) Bambi is also a really sad movie. But I connect with it. Like Bambi, I lost my mother at a young age and was raised by my father. I loved Thumper and Flower’s character parts. I thought it was cute that they named the baby rabbit Thumper as rabbits thump their feet, but it is very unusual to have a skunk which has one of the most awful potent scents in the world, the writers named the character Flower which most flowers have a beautiful scent. So very creative. My family also uses the term twiterpatted from that movie quite often.
Disney movie- Cinderella. (1950) This Disney Princess movie, I mainly watch it because of Jaq and Gus Gus’s dynamic duo. It’s a cute movie, but the mice make the movie for me. The fact they find Cinderella because of a shoe and not because of the Prince recognizing the women he supposedly loved after dancing with her for a few hours and her voice, but because of the shoe she lost. It’s a fairytale so I have to keep that in mind. But again, I love Jaq and Gus Gus.
Disney movie- Alice in Wonderland. (1951) This movie was very confusing to me. I’ve still seen it multiple times, but I think that all the characters in Wonderland was smoking what the catipiller was smoking.
Disney Movie- Peter Pan. (1953) My favorite character from this movie was Tinker Bell. But I have to say Mr. Smee is a close second. The crocodile with the ticking clock is a funny/creepy notion. I don’t blame Hook for going mad.
Disney movie- Lady and the Tramp. (1955) I have had a love of Cocker Spaniels because of this movie. They are sweet dog breed, but back to thoughts about the movie. The typical stereo types they do with Jim Dear and Darling, is sweet. Jim Dear’s reaction to finding out his child is a boy is hilarious. I hated the Siamese cats. UGH I mean I hated them… Also didn’t help that my oldest sister’s bio-dad and step-mom had a siamese cat that hated me and was mean to me. Lady was a much better sitter to baby Junior then Aunt Sarah was. She was terrible. I am glad Jim Dear rushed to save Tramp once he realized it was a rat that caused all the trouble and Tramp was just trying to protect the baby. So good for him doing the right thing. The puppies at the end were so cute.
Disney Movie- Old Yeller. (1957) This is a hard movie to watch. Old Yeller was an amazing dog. He was protecting his humans from a wolf that was going to attack them, which signed his death sentence because of the horrible disease he got from that wolf. I don’t blame Travis for wanting to give him a chance. His little brother was so stupid when he tried to let Old Yeller out after he had already been showing the signs of the sickness. The little brother could have gotten seriously hurt and sick. Even though it was a heart breaking Travis made the right decision to end Old Yeller’s life. So sad because he was an amazing dog but the sickness he got there was no cure and he would have just gotten worse and been more of a danger. Glad they ended up with a puppy in the end to heal their hearts.
Disney movie- Sleeping Beauty. (1959) This is my favorite Disney Princess movie. For many reasons, I loved the three fairies dynamic. I think Aurora is the prettiest Disney Princess, she has the best voice. But I am partial, my oldest sister was an opera singer. Speaking of that sister, she bought me a blanket from the Disney store that had Aurora on it. I still have that blanket to this day. It’s seen better days as its not as soft as it used to be, but still is pretty and has huge sentimental value to me. Maleficent is my favorite Disney villian. Even before the remake. Even thought she is cruel, I thought her outfit and horns were great and the fact she could change into a Dragon was a very cool. Here is a couple surprising facts about this movie. Aurora; Sleeping Beauty herself has the least amount of talking time than any other Disney Princess. She only has 18 minutes of speaking parts the entire film. She was the first and only Disney Princess to have Violet eyes. Also another couple fun facts; The voice actor for the fairy Flora, was Aunt Sarah from Lady and the Tramp, the fairy Merryweather, was LADY from Lady and the Tramp. And the voice for Maleficent was also Lady Tremaine in Cinderella. I also had an Aurora costume for halloween one year. I had her pink dress.
